Up, up, and away!
For this one we are going spoiler free.
We were out among the crazies… hell, we were the crazies.
Tony and Tony (and friends) attended the pre-opening night 10PM showing of Superman Returns. You get to listen in to some edited discussion and interviews with folks as they leave the film.
Afterwards we sit down and have a discussion about our thoughts, one of us loved it, the other wanted more.
Keep in mind boys and girls… this is only part one of our Superman Returns coverage. We’ll be spoiling the hell out of this movie the next time we talk about it. Cause goodness knows there a lot here that could be spoiled.
If you want to chime in on the movie before our next show, please get in touch with us!

Marsden was the best part of the movie for me. It would have been so easy for them to make his character a complete douche for Superman to swoop in and replace, but they took the path less travelled and that’s always a good thing
I actually think the movie was too long. If there’s half an hour of footage on the cutting room floor the script must have been one hell of a flabby final draft!
On to the spoilery part 2…

I tend to agree with you Grounded. Marsden was one of the great characters in this movie. It was fun that they did it the way they did.
I also agree that the movie was a bit long, although to me it was likely a bit long cause I really really didn’t like Kevin Spacey as Lex. Of course I don’t seem to like him as much as other people I know.

Hey Grounded, did you listen to any of the other episodes yet? For example 9.5?

Yes, yes I have. I can report the genie scared me.

FOOL!
What about my might and impressiveness could possibly scare you?
FOOL!
Is it Thursday yet? I need to get my Smallville fix.

Any chance I can have a wish? If yes, my wish is: make Smallville good.

Oooh, ouch. Hey, it may not be the best show out there, but it has my favorite villain of late. Lionel Luther, who knew that John Glover could play such an awful piece of humanity and manage to make me think that there may be a decent individual buried extremely deep inside? Aside from that, yeah, it is pretty ummm, yeah.

Well I’ve missed like 1 episode first run, so…er…insert something here about casting stones

I actually like Smallville. It’s not the best that’s on TV, but it was what got me through until Superman Returns came out, and hopefully it’ll carry me through until Superman Returns… Again? comes out.

I wonder if they will do another Superman movie. I hope that they do, cause I think they could have done a better job of this one. I enjoyed the movie overall, but come on Kevin Spacey? What were they thinking? (Did I mention that I find Kevin Spacey to be the most overrated actor ever?)
Sorry, I am dwelling on that far too much. *grumble mumble*

I’d say it’s almost a guarantee they’ll do another one.

The reports are that another could be on for 2009.
And Chris…
Have you seen Swimming with Sharks?
Just curious… because as much of a fan of Kevin Spacey as I am, I became even more of one with that flick.
And yeah… More Kevin Spacey!!!

Nope, never saw that movie. But I will keep an eye out for it.
You and Adam are both wrong. (Filmspotting reference. Adam loves Kevin Spacey too, his co-host Sam agrees with me. Smart guy that Sam. Hehe.)

Buddy Ackerman makes Keyser Soze look like a girl scout.
Reveling in the Kevin Spacey goodness.

He was pretty good in Pay It Forward, even compared to the great Osment

Hehe, well I guess that Sam and I will always be part of the minority who don’t like Kevin Spacey.
